I believe healing comes from treating one's whole being by natural methods. This type of health care focuses on prevention, pain management, and rehabilitation from chronic muscle issues. Healing occurs when you bring the physical body, the mental and emotional mind, and energetic components of one's being all into complete harmony.
It is my greatest desire to raise awareness of the true nature of massage therapy for its therapeutic applications. Every modality of massage and bodywork has therapeutic effects on the body and should be recognized as such. As a massage therapist it is my aim to educate the public by providing clients with exceptional care to meet their long term and short term health goals. Each session is customized to the specific needs of that client for that appointment. I like to combine modalities based on the benefits of each technique to meet the session goals. The application of techniques will match the way the body works naturally to aide and enhance your body’s natural ability to heal.
Through my education and practice I have been amazed by the healing effects of bodywork and have been dedicated to expanding my knowledge in all realms of massage and energy therapies.
After graduating high school I went on to earn my associates degree in Liberal Arts from Brookdale Community College. I was interested in a career with a flexible schedule. I went to massage school and graduated from Somerset School of Massage Therapy (SSMT) in 2001. I started my Reiki training while I was a student and realized I enjoyed energy work just as much as massage. I started my own practice as soon as I graduated and have been building it ever since. A year after graduating from SSMT I was hired as a Teacher’s Assistant. A year after assisting the program I became a Lead Instructor and taught at SSMT and then Cortiva Institute until 2009. All the while I continued my Reiki training with both the Center of Living Light Reiki and White Light Reiki Masters. I have completed the White Light Reiki Master program and the Advanced Practitioner level of the Center of Living Light Reiki program.
I have continued my studies with both massage and energy work learning many modalities including T'ai Chi Chuan as well as Jin Shin Jyutsu. I feel as though I have found my niche with the therapeutic aspects of massage and the healing abilities of energy work. I feel very fortunate that I have found an occupation that I love and it is reflected in my work. (Please view the Home page or Services & Rates page for a complete list of modalities I have studied and offer.)
My focus has shifted from massage therapy as a career to transforming my entire lifestyle to focus on healing. I am very interested in a balanced life and helping others attain their health goals.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I look forward to meeting you and to assist you in reaching your goals. I am more than happy to address any questions or concerns you may have. Please feel free to contact me via email or phone.
